Providing Gentle Ear Wax Removal to Purbeck

To help soften the ear wax before removal, it helps if you use olive oil base ear drops in the ears for 3 days before your appointment. I recommend Earol for this purpose as it is quick and less messy for you.

If you wear hearing aids, just use the ear drops every evening before bed as you won’t want to get the oil in or on this delicate equipment. You will need to do this for a week before our session.

If it is your first visit, we will go through your ear history and expectatins to make sure you get a hygiene plan specifically tailored to your needs.

Every session also begins with a thorough ear hygiene assessment utilising the latest technology so you can see what’s going on in your ear too!

Irrigation with gentle warm water can be a very effective method to remove ear wax and is the method most people know and use. This is far more gentle and safer than the syringing methods of old.

For when there may be a perforated ear drum or grommet, microsuction is the most gentle and safest method.

Under steady hands and specialist sterlile tools, manual removal of hardened and stubborn wax will soon get those ears clear again.

At the end of each session, we will create a tailored ear hygiene programme that will cover what you can do at home as well as to how often you will need to return for Maintenance Ear Clearing Sessions with myself.
